You can convince yourself of this by using maps on your phone and then turning your phone to airplane mode. The maps will keep up just fine. Be careful though, because some people turn their phones to airplane mode and the wifi or Bluetooth is still on. Check to make sure these are actually turned off when your phone is in airplane mode. One phone hack is to only have the wireless on that you need. Each of these is a separate antenna microwaving you. Turn on only the antenna you actually need.
You can get rid of wireless at your home. Here is a video showing you how to disable the WIFI on your router. Go into your router settings and disable the WIFI. Get a LAN cable and connect all your devices to the wired cables. Your TV, video game console, cellphones, and laptops will all connect to a wired connection.
Adopt some or all of the suggestions above to improve your health. If you've heard about the damage blue light can do to your eyes, then you'll be excited to learn there is a new product that was built to mitigate the blue light damage caused by our devices and LED home and office lighting.
Wow, if we thought time spent indoors and on devices was increasing before, what just happened in was a showstopper. We spent all of mostly indoors and more connected to a device than ever before.
Well, those of you out there that didn't take advantage of the empty parks and woods to get out constantly :. Between cars, work, gym, store, and home we're larger indoors under junk lighting and connected to devices. Now, being on devices a lot means our eyes take a beating. We're looking at screens that are close to our eyes, which is stressful to the eye. Looking further away is relaxing to the eye. In addition, the high intensity blue light can be harmful to the eye.
Without the red and infrared light which is present along with blue from the sun we don't receive the antidote to the blue. This blue light from devices can cause free radicals to be developed in the eye.
Over time, scientists and doctors believe this can cause macular degeneration. Wear blue light blocking glasses.
Blue light blocking glasses, like those found here , have been shown to protect the eyes from blue light. Try the ONLY supplement designed specifically to mitigate the damage to your eyes from blue light. The folks at Neurohacker have done it again. Not only did they invent one of the very best, and the first ever, pre-built nootropic stack, and a longevity supplement, now they have invented a blue light supplement.
Trust me, I know a lot of biohackers and I can count on one hand how many of them actually wear their blueblockers at night. I wish more of your would just do that because it makes a HUGE difference. So, when you ignore my advice and work on a laptop indoors all day and don't wear your blueblockers at night, there's now a supplement built specifically to mitigate the damage the blue light is doing to your eyes.
Way back in a friend of mine was working on a vision formula at a company in Boulder Colorado. He told me that the 1 ingredient to help vision was Bilberry. Guess what's in Qualia Vision? That's right Main Claim: Supports macula health, blue light resistance, and retina function. Goji fruit is a Traditional Chinese Medicine eye tonic used to nourish the eyes and promote healthy vision that supports healthy retina and photoreceptor function.
Amla fruit is an Ayurvedic eye tonic that supports lens health and is believed to preserve eyesight, promote eye health, and relieve eye fatigue. Ginger is a bioenhancer it enhances the bioavailability of carotenoids with antioxidant benefits that supports the healthy function of the retina and lens. Taurine is the most abundant amino acid in the retina, where it acts as an antioxidant and is essential for the function of the photoreceptor layer that captures light. Methylcobalamin an active form of vitamin B12 is critical for the healthy function of the optic nerve that transfers information between the eye and brain.
There you have it. I'm definitely excited about this product. I think this is the first and will be shown to be the best supplement in this market. Many others will follow now, but will they be any good? Virtually every biochemical reaction and cellular process in the human body relies on them. Our energy levels, how we age, our exercise recovery times, and virtually any other category of health you can think of, have inexorable links to the health and abundance of our mitochondria.
But advice on how to support mitochondrial function can be vague. These are specific recommendations for 4 major focuses of mitochondrial support:. You may already know the immense health benefits that come with intermittent fasting , and its role in triggering biogenesis of new mitochondria. You also may know that limiting refined carbs soda, white bread, pastries, etc.
But you may not know that a ingredient beast of a nutritional formula called Qualia Life is specifically designed to optimize mitochondrial function and cellular health. I've taken Qualia Life for years and the difference it has made to my energy levels and personal training goals have been phenomenal.
The company behind it, Neurohacker Collective, is well known for their premium nootropic products such as Qualia Mind, which I can't recommend enough for mental performance. I've gotten to know the Neurohacker team over the years and I was pumped when Qualia Life came out because Neurohacker specializes in very comprehensive formulas.
Neurohacker's calling card is how much you can nutritionally accomplish with one supplement. Try Qualia Life by clicking here and take your mitochondrial nutrition to the highest level ever.
Needless to say, exercise is vital to mitochondrial production, and any exercise beats none, but if you want the biggest return on exercise training for mitochondrial health, I highly recommend high intensity interval training often abbreviated as HIIT. A recent study in Cell Metabolism found that HIIT exercise in particular- such as 15 second sprint bursts or 30 second cycling bursts followed by brief recoveries- had the strongest correlations with mitochondrial production.
Evidence also shows this is true for strength training exercises such as squat jumps and similar rapid burst exercises followed by brief recovery.
The benefits of heat and cold therapies for mitochondrial function- such as sauna, cryotherapy, and outdoor cold exposure- are vast. A recent study published by Plos One indicates that just 30 seconds of cold shower exposure can deliver significant benefits associated with mitochondrial support.
So even if you hate cold therapy, just toughing out a mere 30 seconds at the end of your shower can deliver big benefits to mitochondrial function and beyond. And don't forget that even walking outside for a few minutes in winter without a jacket is considered cold therapy! After asking you to do high intensity exercises and cold therapies, this last tip is the gentlest of them all- relax! Stress hormones can negatively alter mitochondrial function, so any daily practice that prioritizes relaxation- from meditation to massage to nature immersion- is actually serving an important role in overall mitochondrial health.
How you reach a relaxation state is less important than the fact that you do. Maintain that state for at least 30 to 60 minutes a day, taking it just as seriously as exercise, nutrition, or biohacking therapies. From nutrition, to exercise, to therapeutics, to lifestyle, those are 4 specific actions you can take today to address mitochondrial health in a comprehensive way.
Immediately when the SMS was turned on, we could feel it. A few minutes later we were struggling to keep our eyes open.
Read on for details. Our experience was incredible! After talking with Dr Dan and experiencing the technology, both Tomorrow and I immediately wanted one.
This is a one of a kind, new to the world system that helps guide your body into the stages of sleep it needs in real time. We met the inventor and medical doctor , Dan Cohen , back in and he told us that he had been working on a new sleep tracking and management system. This is significant because Dr. You see, Dr Dan is the person who launched the Breathe Right Strip and also automated sleep labs for the hospitals and universities.
After he did those things he began work on something that would immensely benefit humanity. Dr Dan had been explaining the system to us for about 6 months before we were able to try it out.
After hearing how it worked and what it did, we were so excited to experience it. The fact is that most people don't get enough sleep. We are missing out on deep and REM sleep and total sleep. When this happens we perform worse the next day, we don't recover very quickly, our learning decreases and studies show our health may decline.
I'm so excited about this technology because this is the only device I've ever experienced that claims to be able to help me get more sleep, and importantly deep sleep. The Soltec Sleep Management System consists of 3 parts that all work together. The wearable tracks your sleep and also communicates to the SMS unit. The SMS unit sits on the ground under your bed or near your bed and provides the signal to help your body achieve the level of sleep it needs by communicating with the ZTRACK.
Last there is an app that you can install on your phone or tablet to view your sleep data. SMS is intended to help users fall asleep, stay asleep and experience deeper, delta sleep. Delta sleep is the deep stage of sleep where our body does so many good things for us. The founder and inventor spent decades researching the latest technological advancements and incorporating them into a device that works.
These frequencies are the same as those throughout the nervous system that are associated with the various sleep stages. That's because the founder, Dr Dan Cohen is also the guy who automated sleep labs for hospitals and universities. He knows what he's doing. As such, it can analyze for events during which your blood oxygen levels drop O 2 drops or desaturations , in addition to snoring events.
The analysis also shows when these snoring events are associated in time with the O 2 drops. Such sleep disruptions can seriously fragment your sleep by causing sleep arousals and awakenings.
The magnetic waves, containing the relevant frequencies, influence the environment surrounding you. The frequencies of that field can be produced to support and impact the various stages of sleep light sleep, deep or delta sleep and dream or REM sleep.
To be the smartest sleep wearable, the data collected must be accurate and robust. This machine learning is personalized. We call this Ideal Normal Sleep. By calculating your sleep metrics this way, we give you an honest and comprehensive assessment of how you are sleeping. Because of the way Soltec works, it can be used for more than just sleep. As most of us know, we are completely stressed out most of the time. Between emotional stress of work, kids, bills, and the news it's a pretty good indication that most of your are stressed right now.
Of course, what most of us need is to deal with these inner emotional issues and upgrade our spirits and trust more. In the meantime, SMS is able to help our body get into a parasympathetic state.
This is the rest and digest state that is so elusive for most of us. I was intrigued by this. I thought about how I could put the SMS under my chair at work and stay relaxed all day at work.
I also thought about using it during yoga, mediation, and even at retreats when we do group yoga or group meditations. How cool would it be to put us into parasympathetic while doing these things?
Usually my mind has a hard time slowing down, so something like this is so exciting to me. I'm sure there are many more applications I haven't thought of. What about using this during a discussion with your significant other to keep everyone relaxed and calm? As of this writing, April 30, , there are no commercial units of the SMS to be had.
The are all still in production. At 3pm we both sat up in chairs with our feet propped up on an ottoman. The Soltec SMS was placed at our feet on the ottoman. Facing each other, we settled in as Dr Dan turned on the machine. The device is about as big as an old school record player. It has a spinning magnet inside an aluminum tube. Around this, a plastic fan type device spins inside of a plastic housing.
Here's a photo of it. As Dan initiated the program, Tomorrow and I both felt a pulsing immediately going through our legs and up our body. It was subtle but noticeable. As Dan left the room and closed the door, we stayed open to what we might experience.
About 5 minutes later my head was nodding off toward my chest. I caught myself falling asleep about 4 times, all while sitting up in a chair in the middle of the day. After a half hour we were convinced that the SMS absolutely can help someone fall asleep. For the next half hour Dan set the SMS to a parasympathetic, relaxation setting. We closed our eyes and felt very relaxed. Whether it was the current setting, or feeling relaxed from the sleep setting previously, we absolutely felt like we had entered parasympathetic.
After a half hour we were pretty blissed out, like coming off a deep guided meditation. So we haven't had a chance to use it overnight at our own house yet or experiment with it on more people for meditations during the day. As soon as we get access to a pre-production unit, we will begin posting on Youtube and IG and to the blog with our experiences as well as to update this post. Based on the one hour experience we had, I more than ever want to get one of these for myself!
Are you a night owl? Do you like staying up late at night and sleeping half the day away? Do you find it hard to get to sleep before midnight? Staying up late into the night is linked to diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and obesi ty. Only the shamans would have been up watching the stars and taking the health hit for the rest of the tribe. Do it for your health!
By now we all know why sleep is so important. Sleep maintains our health. When we sleep, the body is able to heal and repair. Imagine billions of cells in our body. Some portion of them become damaged during the day, due to exercise, misfolded proteins, diet, toxins in our air and water.
Lack of sleep has been shown to correlate to obesity, cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. According to T. Wiley, there is not a set amount of sleep we need each night and we should be varying the amount of sleep we get depending on the season.
In winter, she builds a very convincing case for sleeping as long as possible, even up to hours per night, or as she puts it, as long as you can without being fired or getting divorced. The winter sleep heals the body and reverses damage done during summer wakefulness. All this is to say that human sleep follows a rhythm. That rhythm is synced to the sun. Rats and mice are the opposite and their biology is designed for them to be optimally healthy when they awaken at dark and sleep during the day.
When you go against nature, you are asking for trouble. First of all , I have to state the obvious. Humans are not rats. I know, this may be a shock to some of you but hang with me here. Rats are nocturnal. That means their biology is tuned to being awake in the night. They have special mechanisms within their body and brain to help them thrive at night.
Humans on the other hand are diurnal. This means you are meant to live in sync with the light and dark cycles of the Earth. Second, each eight hours of sleep started about 25 hours after the last one started.
The human circadian rhythm clock directed the normal sleep pattern, but it waited consistently longer than 24 hours from cycle to cycle. The suprachiasmatic nucleus has a reset mechanism: sunlight. We wake up and, sometime shortly thereafter, most people see some sunlight. As we do, it resets the clock. After a day has passed, the sun starts to set, and the light gets dimmer.
The clock starts to run down and start up the sleep cycle. When the sunlight hits it the next day, it starts all over again.
These receptors are called melanopsin retinal ganglion cells, which connect almost directly from the eye, down the optic nerve, and then to the suprachiasmatic nucleus. These particular receptors are most sensitive to blue light. However, even a small amount of blue light will cause these receptors to send a burst of activation from the eye to that internal sleep clock located above the optic chiasm. Sunlight—even bright white sunlight—contains an evenly distributed mix of many wavelengths of light, including blue.
When this blue frequency light strikes the receptors, it disrupts the suprachiasmatic nucleus function. There are some pricey sunglasses on the market that specifically block blue light frequencies, but most orange-tinted sunglasses will work almost as well. Look out the window at the blue sky first thing in the morning.
