How long is weston super mare pier

Two of the machines stole my money at which point I decided to leave. It's definitely lots of fun and it's amazing what they have crammed in to the place but I dread to think how much it would have cost to take the kids in there! Thank you very much for taking the time to write to Trip Advisor with your recent feedback. We are sorry that you felt you did not receive value for money on the rides and attractions at the Pier.

We do hope that you will visit us again soon and we thank you once again for taking the time to write in with your feedback. I thought i would take my son aged 12 and dog to the Grand Pier at Weston, so we could see how it had changed since the great fire. We were very impressed by the architechture, the new curvy lines worked well. As we approached i noticed a sign that read 'strictly no dogs only guide dogs' i was shocked, i thought at the very least you would allowed to be able to walk along the pier, even if you couldn't go into the main entrance.

I decided that since she is only a small dog they would allow me to carry her. However, i was met by a attendant that said no and suggested i leave the dog in the car. This was of course unexceptable as we are always being warned not to leave dogs in cars, as they can die with the heat. So there was no alternative but to go in separately. I went in first and loved the idea that there was a central covered walk way, very sensible with fire doors along the length of it.

Inside as well as the usual amusements there were fair ground rides, a Horror House, dodgeums, a Victorian resturaunt at the far end. To my surprise there was even an upstairs, which held a 3D Cinema, Go-Karts, a Helter Skelter, Lazer Maze, a family cafe and play park, with a further resturant at the end.

I was so excited by it all that i couldn't wait to tell my son all about it. He went to view for himself. Well he was gone i decided that i would take the dog along the beach as the tide was now a long way out, i walked under the pier to look at what had been replaced and what had been kept.

At this point a 'beach guard' approached me in his van and told me i wasn't allowed to walk the dog on this side of the pier and i had to keep to the other side. This wasn't much of a problem but already i was beginning to feel an 'outcast' for having a dog with me. My son returned but disapointed that we couldn't go on anything together, as we could only go on our own.

We then went into town, it was nice but again we weren't allowed into the shopping centre's because of the dog. So we spent the whole of the day out side in very windy conditions all because i had a small dog with me. Furthermore, i didn't see one shop, pub, resturant, that had a dog bowl out side. There were other people with dogs walking around, i expect they must of felt the same.

We returned to the car windswept with windburn and a very thirsty dog. I felt angry that i couldn't have fun on the pier with my son like i intended. My conclusion is smashing pier, lots of other things to do and places to visit as long as you don't have a dog.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write to Trip Advisor with your comments on your recent visit to the Grand Pier. We are sorry that you feel that the Pier is not dog friendly. Unfortunately we had to introduce this policy following our re-opening where a lot of irresponsible pet owners brought their pets onto the Pier and caused difficulties for their pets and for other Pier users, by their irresponsible conduct in very busy conditions.

Our smaller visitors began to feel very threatened by the presents of these pets as many of them were left unattended and there were some very large pets on site without adequate supervision. A number of other visitors did not clean up after their pets so we had many many complaints about them. As a result, we were forced to implement the ban for the safety of our guests and the safety of their pets. I do hope that this will not deter you from returning to the Grand Pier.

We much appreciate your comments and look forward to welcoming you back soon. Enjoyed a visit to the Pier, our first visit since it was rebuilt. Thank you very much for taking the time to write in with your valued feedback. We are delighted that you enjoyed your recent visit to the Grand Pier. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.
